Digital Product Co-ordinator (Ref: WZ/DPC)
Wozzon Ltd (http://wozzon.com/), part of the Science Navigation Group, provides a dedicated mobile and web service as UK's No.1 event search engine. We are seeking a Digital Product Co-ordinator who will be responsible for planning and managing developments to the woZZon websites and/or mobile applications. This involves web product proposals for new features and content, user interface changes, functional specifications, prioritisation, project planning and scheduling. They will make user interface and web design decisions to enhance the usability of the website. Research and analysis of other sites, functionalities such as user generated content and web 2.0 will be necessary. The role will require user feedback evaluation and usage analysis to determine the issues and solutions for the sites.
Main Duties:
- Product development – delivering product proposals for features/functionality and content
- User Interface analysis
- Creating detailed specifications and design mock-ups
- Formulating multiple use-case scenarios and storyboards
- Scheduling and project management
- Analysis of other sites and web/mobile functionality
- User Interface analysis/Usage Analysis/Feedback to determine the issues and solutions for our products
- Co-ordination with marketing, sales and editorial teams
- Coordination with developer teams and design agencies in UK and offshore to deliver solutions within strict time constraints

Personal Specification:

COMMISSIONING ASSISTANT (Ref: F1000/CA)
Faculty of 1000, the award-winning literature evaluation service for the Medical and Life Sciences communities, is looking for a Commissioning Assistant to liaise with top-level research scientists, medics and clinicians.
The role will be based in central London and will involve contacting internationally renowned biological and medical researchers, medics and clinicians through email and over the telephone in order to commission new authors for the service. The successful candidate must be well organised, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, have a knowledge of Microsoft Office, show a high level of accuracy and demonstrate an ability to prioritise whilst working to deadlines.
Candidates should have a natural ability to communicate concepts clearly and enthusiastically. A background in medical or life sciences and experience in a customer-facing role would be an advantage, but are not essential, as aptitude is most important and full training will be provided.

Marketing Manager (Ref: F1000/MM)
F1000 is a leading web-based service offering evaluations and comments on the biomedical research literature from professionals in the field. We currently have a vacancy for a Marketing Manager which will be based in our central London office. The position will be responsible for marketing F1000 and its component products (The Scientist magazine, F1000 Reports review journals, the posters repository, and the evaluations database) to advertisers and to subscribers.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Developing and implementing plans for marketing to librarians, information scientists and other decision makers in subscribing organizations (including academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and others) in order to improve brand awareness and increase sales.
- Developing and implementing plans for marketing to end-users in academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and other subscribing organizations in order to improve brand awareness and increase demand.
- Planning and managing attendance at library meetings and also at key scientific and clinical meetings.
- Management of marketing and customer services staff members in London and in the US (Philadelphia and/or New Jersey).
- Developing and implementing F1000’s PR strategy, and managing any external PR agencies or contractors, should this be required.
- Planning and overseeing the production of all marketing resources, including print materials, marketing collateral, conference give-aways and booth branding, PowerPoint and other presentations for sales support or general marketing purposes, etc.
- Planning and implementing print and e-advertising campaigns, including Google ads.
- Working with the advertising sales team to develop packages for prospective advertisers and taking a leading role in making sure that F1000’s site/s and email campaigns are optimized for communicating ROI to buyers.
- Analyzing ROI on F1000 campaigns and preparing regular reports on ongoing marketing programs, including spend and results.
- Coordinating with F1000’s technical, publishing, sales and editorial departments to develop programs that will advance the quality of service offered by F1000 and make it more widely known within the life-sciences community.
The candidate will have:
- Experience of the science, technical, medicine publishing sector.
- Broad knowledge and experience of marketing to librarians and information science managers.
- Substantial e-marketing and e-advertising experience and expertise.
- Experience of working in an online environment.
- Experience and expertise in using public relations to generate press coverage and enhance reputation.

We currently have a vacancy for a Sales Manager which will be based in our central London office. The position will include leading the sales program for F1000 and its component products (The Scientist magazine, F1000 Reports review journals, the posters repository, and the evaluations database) to subscribers in academic and corporate institutions.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Developing and implementing a strategy for institutional sales, across all world markets, focusing on librarians/information scientists.
- Managing the sales team, defining territories and sales targets, and consulting on incentive plans. In addition to his/her management responsibilities, the sales manager will also take do hands-on sales in one defined territory or market sector.
- Sourcing and managing sales agents in markets where on-staff salespeople are not able to operate directly.
- Managing and maintaining the contacts database (Salesforce) and ensuring that all contact information is kept up to date.
- Working with the sales team to establish long-term relationships with key buyers and decision makers.
- Collaborate effectively with marketing and customer service teams.
- Build and develop the sales pipeline, prospect new opportunities, and stay in touch with market developments.
